Just-in-Time Meeting Skills Live Workshop

There are many reasons why most meetings suck.

  • No clear outcomes or agenda

  • Dominating personalities

  • No follow-up accountability

  • Information overload

  • Conflict avoidance

What if we told you that each of those issues is avoidable and that you could fix it?

The answer is facilitation.

Facilitators get paid to make meetings seem like magic using a secret bag of tricks that only they have. Our mission is to bring facilitation skills to everyone.

What You’ll Learn

  • A few things you already know (and that’s a good thing). We want you to feel like the approach to designing and facilitating a meeting is normal and easy.

  • A straightforward, repeatable practice for prepping, designing, leading and closing a meeting that you can use whether your meeting is one hour or three days.

  • Strategies for pivoting your agenda in the moment if the needs of the meeting change.

Putting It Into Practice

This is a highly participatory workshop. We avoid long lectures and focus on experiential learning. Before each workshop, we will assign you episodes of the podcast to listen to (less than 30 minutes). During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to work individually and in small groups on things like prepping for and designing a meeting, kicking off and closing a meeting, plus lots of time to design real activities you’d like to do in upcoming meetings. Participants are encouraged to bring one or more meeting ideas you plan to lead, or could lead, so you leave with a fully-designed agenda and feel confident in your ability to guide the process.
